Overview

Wedding photography sells on emotion. The website had to get out of the way.

GrandLense is a photography studio covering weddings, portrait sessions and creative shoots. The brief was a portfolio site that feels as cinematic as the work — full-screen imagery, minimal interface, and an easy way for couples to get in touch.

Challenge & solution

What made it hard, and how I approached it.

The challenge

Large images, fast site

  • The site is almost entirely high-resolution photography.
  • Visitors mostly arrive on phones, often from social media.
  • Enquiries needed to reach the studio reliably.
The solution

Image-first, lightweight build

  • A full-screen slider with bold typography and minimal chrome, so each photo gets the whole screen.
  • Responsive layouts and compressed imagery for fast loading on mobile.
  • A simple PHP contact form that sends enquiries straight to the studio.
Key features

Built around what people actually need.

Cinematic slider

Full-bleed photography with large headline typography and autoplay controls.

Mobile-first

Layouts tuned for phones, where most visitors browse.

Direct enquiries

Client words
Our portfolio finally looks as polished as the weddings we shoot. He understood the mood we wanted from the first call.

Takeaway

What I learned.

For visual businesses, restraint is the design. Most of the work was removing interface so the photography could carry the site.
